Job Description:

Akkodis is proud to partner with a client in Mechanicsville, VA who is currently accepting applications for an Test Engineer. This is a contractual opportunity that is fully onsite.

As a Test Engineer you will encompass the development and implementation of appropriate tests to ensure compliance with contract test specifications and generally accepted standards. Also provide support for research efforts while ensuring protection of the test environment, including physical facility and staff.

Hourly Rate: $25/hour - $30/hour - The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Test Engineer Responsibilites include but not limited to:
  • Plan, conduct or coordinate a range of complex engineering activities encompassing one or more engineering disciplines.
  • Conduct or coordinate complex analyses and develop recommendations based on sound engineering practices and business considerations.
  • Serve as consultant to management and customers regarding advanced technical studies, their potential application and the resolution of complex problems.
  • Manage or coordinate major engineering projects of substantial impact to the company.
  • Proactively develop and implement measures to improve operations and customer satisfaction.

Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or, Associate with Experience.
  • Ability to read power electronic schematics and knowledge of power conversion topologies.
  • Some exposure to power converters testing.

Skills needed:
  • Confirmable doing software updates to embedded systems for power converters.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills using scopes and digital meters.
  • Familiar with power conversion and topologies (inverters and rectifiers).
  • Perform high power testing tasks like Hi-Pot, semiconductor and continuity verification
  • Create test data collection and reporting using tools for production data.
  • Drive burn-in and report issues to local and global team members.
  • Three phase power system knowledge is a must.
