Tyto Athene is seeking an experienced Senior Solutions Architect to join our team and provide technical leadership throughout the business development lifecycle, resulting in highly rated proposal responses. The Solutions Architect will provide broad technical direction and expertise across various areas, including but not limited to networking, cloud infrastructures (on-premises, public, hybrid), applications, AI, ML, and DevSecOps. Leveraging a comprehensive knowledge base in systems engineering, systems integration, systems standards, process engineering, systems design, and federal government support (particularly Defense), the Solutions Architect will create compelling, cost-effective, and differentiated solutions that align with customer needs and help Tyto succeed in winning new business. The Solutions Architect will engage early in new business pursuits and drive solution strategies between the capture and proposal preparation phases.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will lead the establishment and implementation of our technical strategy throughout all phases of the procurement lifecycle for large opportunities in Tyto's business development pipeline
As a member of the Chief Technology Office (CTO) Solutions Team, collaborate with Business Development (BD), Capture Managers, Technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Business Unit (BU) leadership, proposal team, and pricing on solution development and win strategy by simultaneously supporting business development call plans and driving the creation of the appropriate work products throughout Tyto's business development lifecycle
Provide input to our Capabilities team to shape product management of Tyto capabilities across various domains
Develop compelling, innovative, and responsive solutions to customer needs and requirements that are consistently evaluated as superior
Document the solution, developing Concept of Operations (CONOPs), and storyboard development for a solution-to-proposal transition
Serve as "Volume Lead," owning the document out the door by developing the solution with the team and crafting the response (writing text, conceptualizing graphics)
Leverage Tyto past performances, unique perspectives, and capabilities to strengthen the quality and scorability of our proposal responses
Work with price-to-win teams to apply design-to-cost principles to assure cost-effectiveness in our proposal responses
Provide Color Review feedback on proposal artifacts created by your peers.
Work with Capture and BD to source and vet large and small business partners and technology vendors
Develop content and talk tracks for Orals presentations, working with internal and external Orals coaches, as needed
Develop or contribute to Basis of Estimate (BOE) and Bill of Material (BOM) artifacts to support pricing
Work with Recruiting and Capture to evaluate and screen potential Key Personnel
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; equivalent, relevant experience will be considered
5+ years of experience in solution architecture, with responsibilities involving complex client requirements assessment, solutions design, and implementation within the technology services industry
3+ years as a lead solutions architect working on proposal responses for a federal systems integrator, managed service provider, or ISV/cloud provider, with consistently high technical evaluation ratings and a record of writing winning proposals
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively across functional groups to optimize product & service offerings
Understanding of various aspects of United States Government/Department of Defense programs, including program and project management, staffing, engineering, Operations and Maintenance (O&M), quality, logistics, technology, and regulations
Strong writing skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts and strategies in proposal responses
Ability to conceptualize and develop visual graphics to support proposal narratives
Project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
Proficiency with Microsoft Visio, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Desired:
7+ years of experience supporting proposal solution development in a government contracting environment for multi-teammate, solutions-based proposals
Demonstrated experience in IT Service Management (ITSM) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certified
Familiarity with government cybersecurity frameworks such as Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), and FedRAMP
Associate-level certification with Google, Azure or AWS cloud platforms
Familiarity with AI/ML principles, and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
Strong understanding of data management and data governance
Demonstrated understanding of engineering methodologies such as Systems SELC and MBSE, with the ability to effectively convey these concepts in proposals and technical discussions
Experience with AAS/FEDSIM proposals
Active SECRET security clearance preferred or be able to secure DoD Security clearance
