Larkin Express Logistics is seeking an experienced and dynamic Branch Manager to oversee operations at our Houston, Texas location. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in brokerage, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of driving operational excellence.
Job Summary:
The Branch Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the branch's operations, including warehousing, transportation, customer service, and business development. This role requires a strategic thinker who can optimize processes, manage teams effectively, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities Include:
Overseeing all administrative, operational and sales functions of the branch
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and partners
Managing operations to ensure customer requirements are met and exceeded
Overseeing HR administration including performance and staffing
Maintaining responsibility of branch and providing monthly performance updates
Performing additional duties as assigned
Drive business growth through new client acquisition and expansion of services with existing clients
Qualifications:
5 years of experience in logistics/transportation with focus on business development and P/L management
Freight brokering/dispatching: 2 years (Required)
Freight brokerage or account management experience
Transportation experience in dispatch and/or operations
Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA rules and regulations
Book of business (truck base or customer base)
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of electronic transportation platforms and software
Willing to be available after hours and weekends, as needed
Excellent problem-solving and time management skills
Strong work ethic
Detail oriented with the ability to maintain a positive attitude towards employees and customers
Position located in Houston, TX. Compensation commensurate with experience.
