This position can be based in either San Diego, CA, Nashua, NH, Chicago, IL, OR Austin, TX.
This Senior Systems Administrator develops and maintains systems, tools and networks in support of pSemi's enterprise environment. As an individual contributor, you will be expected to manage the network infrastructure including switches, routers and firewalls, maintain the latest firmware revisions and security patches in support of the pSemi enterprise network which spans the globe.
Roles & Responsibilities
This position has responsibility for:
The design, implementation, and maintenance of a geographically distributed network, including LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi and SDWAN.
In-depth understanding and practical knowledge of networking (switching, routing, perimeter security, DNS, and DHCP)
Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues and provide solutions to ensure networks are performing optimally
Ability to manage, monitor and troubleshoot a complex network environment
Ability to design, implement and troubleshoot network performance issues and the security infrastructure
Ability to communicate technical information to other technical team members and to those who may not have knowledge of network terminology
Ability to manage several projects simultaneously from design to implementation
Work closely with the software vendors to resolve issues and drive new features and infrastructures

Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)
Typically requires 6 to 8 years of experience in network technology infrastructure, including support, design, implementation, and operations, depending on education level and experience
Experience configuring, maintaining, deploying and supporting networking hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi APs
Comprehensive understanding of networking including L2/L3 protocols such as VLANs, STP/RSTP, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP and EIGRP
Extensive knowledge of communication and routing protocols used within an enterprise environment
Extensive experience with a variety of network analysis, monitoring and alerting tools
Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve network performance issues, relating to routing and switching
Working knowledge of 802.1x radius authentication and ClearPass
Understanding of certificate or PKI infrastructure
Designing, writing and updating both system documentation and network diagrams
Configure network connections, in support of a large virtualization and storage infrastructure
Experience managing cloud environments such as AWS and Oracle Cloud a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and English proficiency
Strong leadership and team mentoring skills
Self-motivated and team oriented

Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing Cisco / Aruba / Palo Alto Enterprise Networks with strong network operating systems experience (such as Cisco IOS, NX-OS, ARUBAOS, PANOS)
At least one certification in Cisco, Palo-Alto, CompTIA Network+ or other networking technologies desired
Support of LAN, WAN, SDWAN, and VPN networks, in a VMWare, NetApp environment running Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, and Linux (CentOS, RHEL) business systems
Demonstrate mastery of TCP/IP switching and routing
Extensive knowledge of Ethernet cabling, multimode fiber optics, experience in a high-density, high bandwidth environment (10GB, 25GB, and greater), fiber channel a plus
Proficient in the configuring and standing up Cisco Switches, Palo Alto Firewalls, and Aruba APs
Proficient with VPN technologies (Global Protect)
Strong knowledge of virtual and physical server architecture and networking
Proficient knowledge of Authentication and Access Control technologies[EM1] [EM2]
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
