Position Overview:
The Investment Principal will play a critical role in the full investment lifecycle, including sourcing, evaluating, executing, and managing investments. This role requires a strong strategic mindset, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, portfolio companies, and investment partners. As a senior team member, you will also support fundraising initiatives and mentor junior staff.
Job Description:
Deal Sourcing and Evaluation: Identify and develop investment opportunities through market research, industry networks, and direct outreach. Build and maintain strong relationships with entrepreneurs, investors, and intermediaries to generate deal flow.
Due Diligence: Lead comprehensive due diligence processes, including financial analysis, market research, and competitive assessment. Develop investment theses and prepare detailed investment memos.
Portfolio Management Support: Support and guide portfolio companies to drive value creation, operational efficiency, and strategic growth. Act as a key advisor to portfolio companies, ensuring alignment with investment objectives.
Reporting: Preparing reports and presentations for internal use and for communication with limited partners and other stakeholders.
Team Leadership & Development: Mentor and develop junior investment professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration. Lead internal discussions to improve investment processes and firm strategies.
Bilingual in English and Mandarin preferred
Requirements:
A bachelor's degree is required, with a strong preference for candidates with backgrounds in Investments, Engineering, AI, Energy, or Semiconductors. An MBA, CFA, or an equivalent advanced qualification is highly preferred.
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with a deep understanding of valuation techniques and market analysis.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with team members, portfolio companies, and external stakeholders.
Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the venture capital ecosystem and the specific industries of interest to WI Harper Group
