NCP engineering, Inc., the leading independent software vendor of remote access solutions, is looking for a highly driven, self-motivated individual to join the team at its location in Clearwater, Florida.
NCP engineering, Inc. is seeking a System Engineer to join our System Engineering and Help Desk team. In this role you will be responsible for deploying, operating, and maintaining our remote access VPN products and solutions for our customers primarily in 'the Americas'. Successful candidates will have a strong systems/network administration background, razor-sharp troubleshooting skills, empathetic and excellent communication skills, and the desire to employ these skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
Provide second- and third-level help desk support to our customers
Work with resellers, partners, and customers to maintain and drive NCP solution fixes
Assist in the deployment and rollout of NCP solutions for new customers
Work closely with the product development team to solve problems and improve product-line features
Offer systems engineering and administration expertise to the larger NCP organization
Qualifications (Required)
Advanced technical knowledge of network architectures, end-user platforms and all modern operating systems
Expertise in network protocols, routing, and firewall management
Expertise in VPN (IPsec, SSL VPN), DNS, DHCP and PKI
At least one year of experience as a network administrator or equivalent
Well-developed interpersonal, communication (oral & written English), good customer service skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with staff and end users, at all levels
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Self initiative to follow through until issues are resolved to the satisfaction of our users
Analytical and problem-solving abilities
Result oriented, metrics driven, and capable of working in a fast paced, changing environment
Be willing to participate in trade shows
Strong team player
Be willing to travel (long distance, and when necessary, for a week or more)
Qualifications (Preferred)
A solid understanding of industry standards and best practices related to network architecture
Advanced hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience
Ability to prioritize, take initiative and make decisions, and execute tasks in an ever-changing environment
Proven ability to meet deadlines and maintain quality standards
Ability to work effectively with other support staff members and teams
Self-motivated and directed
Care and attention to detail
Scripting knowledge is a plus
