Our client is an upper mid-market control buyout fund focused on partnering with industrial and commercial service platforms, accelerating their inorganic growth capabilities, and driving operational-focused margin expansion initiatives. The firm is based in the Southeast, but the investment professional team is based in New York. The firm has billions in AUM and is investing out of a flagship fund IV. The team is looking to add an experienced VP to their deal team. Vice Presidents should be capable of leading most of a control buyout deal end-to-end and provide valued added insights to portfolio management teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Day-to-day manager of deals and financings, including full deal work plan and strategy
Actively participate in Investment Committee ("IC") meetings, internal meetings, and external due diligence sessions
Monitor portfolio company performance and help execute investment theses, including managing add-on acquisitions and communicating effectively with executive teams
Identify and source potential investment opportunities, including actionable acquisition theses and targets from Idea meetings
Manage and develop junior deal team members, including Associates and Senior Associates
Ability to work closely with management teams/sellers and multiple 3rd parties (financial, tax, HR, operations, lender, and legal advisory firms)
Lead meetings and communicate effectively (ability to "read the room")
Active participation in deal and IC meetings
QUALIFICATIONS:
5-8 years of M&A advisory and control private equity experience
Demonstrated experience managing a full deal process end-to-end (platform and add-on)
Ability to independently problem-solve and effectively leverage the firm's value creation playbook
Strong financial modeling and data analytics skills (ability to review and manage junior team member's outputs)
Develop new investment ideas and create new opportunities for the firm
