POSITION SUMMARY
The Director will support the asset management activities of Cypress and its affiliates. The candidate will be responsible for the financial modeling, management of capital transactions (loans, pad sales, etc.), communications with lenders and partners, and other related responsibilities in support of existing portfolio and new opportunities across the United States.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The position will work with all levels in the organization including the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Managing Directors, and Directors with deal screening, underwriting, due diligence, and the asset management of various investments. Additional responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Developing and maintaining sophisticated financial models and underwriting for current portfolio and prospective acquisitions
Analysis of complex partnership structures in support of acquisition and asset management activities, stressing project and joint venture performance
Working with senior management and external brokers, legal team, etc. to manage capital markets transactions (such as loan extensions, refinances, pad sales, etc.)
Conducting regular comparisons to budget and evaluating the impact of potential lease transactions and capital improvements
Communicating with senior management regarding ongoing project status, underwriting variance reporting, and performance metrics
Assisting senior management in the preparation of investment memorandums and presentations for various third parties
Cultivating relationships with brokers, investors, and other third parties in order to drive business and create new opportunities
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 10 years of real estate finance and underwriting experience in commercial real estate, preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, or Engineering. Graduate degree in Business or Real Estate, a plus
Must have experience in Retail Real Estate sector of the industry
Experience in asset management and value-add acquisitions or ground-up development
Experience with or certified in Argus Enterprise
Strong financial modeling and Excel capability
