Overview:

The Small Business Banker II builds a client base through prospecting, community involvement and proactive business development activities. The Small Business Banker II increases the Small Business loan portfolio, generating loan fee and Treasury Services income and increases core deposits for the Bank. In addition, this role develops and expands relationships for long term business partnering with clients while referring prospective business and individual clients to internal business partners.

Responsibilities:
  • Thorough knowledge of small business financial products and services with ability to structure solutions to maximize opportunities for the Bank as well as meet individual client needs
  • Ability to demonstrate examples of improving businesses financial outcomes by interpreting financial statements and recommending specific levers
  • Drive new business development through proactive strategies, including Bank promotions and cross selling efforts, with a focus on meeting goals / targets and expanding profitability
  • Management of an extensive client portfolio with annual revenues of $500 thousand - $5 million
  • Provide comprehensive portfolio management; analyze client's needs and ascertain their financial position and credit worthiness; establish and negotiate terms, costs, repayment methods, collateral requirements, and rates; manage relationship with customer monitoring repayment activities and variance in changes in the company.
  • Responsible for contributing to the Oklahoma City Market CRA strategy, with specific goals targeted to prospecting and executing on loan / deposit opportunities in the CRA assessment area
  • Community leadership experience
  • Creating business plan to offer CrossFirst services to help support HMDA and Fair Lending, increasing penetration in LMI tracts
  • Prepare and deliver persuasive oral and written reports, presentations, and proposals
  • Profile clients to gain a completed understanding of their personal, small business and commercial banking needs
  • Ensure that all personal and commercial loans meet credit/financial requirements for lending quality and compliance as determined by the Bank
  • Interact with internal sources and external clients while providing extraordinary service
  • Communicate effectively with Manager while planning calls outside of the Bank, to insure proper accountability and coverage within the Business Banking team.
  • Develop and maintain trusted, positive relationships with other employees, clients, and vendors
  • Complete job assignments in a professional, timely and efficient manner; organize and prioritize work
  • Maintain confidentiality; adhere to CrossFirst Bank policies and procedures; comply with laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Reliable and predictable on-site attendance

Qualifications:
  • Advanced knowledge of small business banking products and services including credit analysis, underwriting and treasury management product and services.
  • Proven performer as a business banking loan officer in a high performing bank environment is required; familiarity with the Oklahoma City market and region is preferred.
  • Effective communicator, results oriented, demonstrates the ability to excel in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong presentation and consultative sales skills.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills with the ability to cultivate long term relationships and influence others internally and externally.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance or economics preferred or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
  • Formal credit training, a degree and/or ongoing AIB seminars and other resources is highly preferred.
