Summary: The Director of Patient Care Services Level 2 is responsible for planning, priority setting, coordination, management, and evaluation of patient and staff education at Jackson Health System (JHS). This role exemplifies cooperative leadership and fosters an efficient and progressive environment that promotes quality education and staff development through learning opportunities, mentorship, and research.
Key Responsibilities:
Active involvement in policy formulation, strategic direction, and patient care management. Develop admission, discharge, transfer, and stay criteria to reduce length of stay. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care.
Develop, implement, and evaluate Service Center missions, goals, and objectives. Define patient care practices, develop policies, and ensure resource utilization for personal and professional staff development.
Manage financial, human, material, and informational resources. Develop and monitor the patient care budget. Recruit, retain, and motivate key personnel, ensuring high-quality services meet community needs.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies and public policy issues. Lead quality assessment/improvement programs to enhance healthcare service quality. Promote a strong customer service orientation.
Represent the department in various committees. Develop and implement safety, security, and infection control standards. Adhere to JHS compliance standards and report any suspected fraud or abuse.
Experience:
7 to 10 years of related experience, with management experience required.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a related field is required; Master's degree preferred. At least one degree must be in Nursing.
Skills:

Effective communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of business and management principles for strategic planning and resource allocation.
Credentials:
Valid Florida RN license is required. Advanced Nursing Administration certification is preferred. Valid BLS and applicable life support certifications are required.
