Job Purpose We are an established construction firm looking to bring on an experienced Estimator for Civil Projects. This position will be asked to review blueprints, specifications, and proposals to create time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, and services. Roles, Duties, & Responsibilities
Analyze blueprints and documents to generate estimates.
Assess project cost-effectiveness and track costs against bids.
Conduct studies to develop standard cost data or implement cost-saving measures.
Collaborate with stakeholders to adjust cost estimates.
Consult with clients and vendors to resolve issues.
Review material and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists.
Calculate cost factors for management purposes.
Specialize in specific services, products, or phases of work.
Participate in management meetings.
Visit project sites before bidding and during construction.
Develop long-term plans to evaluate work accomplishments.
Market company services to clients and contractors.
Adhere to and enforce safety policies.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Work Qualifications
Ability to rate information using measurable standards.
Skill in visualizing drawings as solid objects.
Willingness to work long hours and assume high responsibility.
Strong communication and technical skills in construction.
Knowledge of construction equipment and regulations.
Proficiency in mathematics and blueprint reading.
Excellent command of English language and grammar.
Ability to create accurate and well-presented proposals.
Understanding of customer service principles.
Knowledge of production processes and cost management.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to company values.
Positive representation of the organization.
Valid Driver's License required.
Bachelor's degree in Construction or Civil Engineering preferred.
Minimum of five (5) years in a related field; or equivalent experience and training.
