Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and filing tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. This position requires strong analytical skills, tax research abilities, and proficiency in tax software, specifically CCH Axcess.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and file individual and business tax returns accurately and on time.
Conduct thorough tax research to stay updated on federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Analyze financial documents and data to determine tax liabilities.
Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and provide updates on tax preparation progress.
Review and verify tax returns for accuracy and compliance.
Assist clients with tax planning and strategy to minimize tax liabilities.
Maintain confidentiality and security of client information.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Tax Preparer or similar role.
Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations, including federal, state, and local taxes.
Experience with CCH Axcess or similar tax preparation software.
Ability to conduct thorough tax research and analyze complex financial data.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Certification as an Enrolled Agent (EA) or CPA is preferred.
