Description JOB SUMMARY The position's primary responsibilities include assisting outside tax firms in preparing federal and state returns. The role will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. The role will advise and provide leadership oversight in all areas of tax for the executive management team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assists outside tax firm in preparing federal, and state returns. Prepare local and special tax returns by collecting, analyzing and formatting financial information.
Comply with federal, state, and local requirements by studying regulations; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions; communicating with attorneys, and tax specialists to ensure timely tax reporting requirements
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops or classes, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
Contribute to the finance team's effort by accomplishing related results as needed, including special projects, monthly and quarterly provision computations, preparing estimated tax payments, overseeing monthly sales tax compliance across entities, responsible for all compliance across entities.
Provide leadership and oversight in all areas of tax for the executive management team.
Qualifications KNOWLEDGE & REQUIREMENTS
Minimum years of work experience: 8 years
Minimum of 5-10 years in public accounting practice as a tax professional with experience in corporate, state and local tax
Minimum of 3-5 years of professional tax experience in a corporate tax department outside public practice
Bachelors Degree in Taxation
Travel Requirements: Domestic and/or International, up to >10%
