Position Summary: The Senior ElectroMechanical Engineer will play a key role in developing next-generation robotic platforms for healthcare. You'll be responsible for designing and testing complex electro-mechanical systems in a regulated medical device environment. This role involves hands-on development, from prototyping to final testing, with a focus on electromechanical assemblies, fixtures, and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop electromechanical fixtures for medical robotics systems.
Create specifications and manage the development of manufacturing test and build fixtures.
Identify and implement improvements in assembly and build processes.
Support firmware and software development for fixtures.
Document fixture designs and development improvements.
Maintain proper test, configuration control, and documentation standards.
Work on cross-functional projects, collaborating with different teams.
Assist with vendor communication and procurement.
Manage projects and communicate progress with stakeholders.
Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in electromechanical system development.
PhD in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics Engineering, or related field.
Experience in regulated industries like medical devices or aerospace.
Hands-on experience in designing, assembling, and testing electro-mechanical systems.
Knowledge of best practices for electromechanical system development.
Experience with CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and statistical tools (e.g., Minitab).
Familiarity with MATLAB Simulink or LabView is a plus.
Experience in firmware/software development is highly desirable.
Strong project management skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
