The Director of Engineering provides oversight, and tasking responsibilities to the project engineers. The Director of Engineering also acts a subject matter expert on all items associated with engineering principals and fundamentals. This person would be a higher-level contact for engineering disciplines involved in a project. The Director of Engineering shall have a thorough understanding of drafting techniques and be capable of learning POD related design and eventually commenting on architectural, structural, mechanical, and plumbing disciplines.

Contributes to the Design and Engineering of PODs 60%
Leads collaboration with internal and external engineering resources to assist in completing the design of each POD
Maintains engineering methods, operation sequence and processes in the fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies
Enforces the use and maintenance of an organized file system for production drawings
Communicates with Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Manufacturing team leads to resource plan activities
Initiates design changes to improve process or product performance and quality, or decrease costs
Drives cost reduction through design for manufacturability
Plans engineering workload, tracks progress, problem solves gaps in performance, and operates strategically toward future
Works closely with Marketing and Design in establishing cost trade-offs
Assists in training/mentoring of project engineers
Leads Engineers in Preliminary Product Draft, Design and Design Evaluation 20%
Teaches others to utilize computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software, such as AutoCAD and Revit, to develop designs/layouts, elevations, and realistic renderings
Leads and upholds revision practices to production drawings
Makes drafts and assists in the final sketch of proposed drawings, checking dimension of parts, the relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project
Assists engineers with POD specific details in drawing finished designs from sketches
Research and Development of GCON Product Lines 20%
Leads cross functional teams for lean improvement projects
Develops and leads test protocols to evaluate research & development efforts
Creates and reviews GCON Standard Operating Procedures
Leads engineering team and participates in the execution of Factory Acceptance and Site Acceptance Testing protocols if required

Education and/or Experience:
A Bachelor's Degree that meets the following conditions: Degree in Engineering which has been accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (EAC/ABET) • All international applicants must show English language proficiency by meeting one of the following requirements below:
? International English Language Testing System (IELTS) band score of 7.0 or higher
? The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) of 95 on internet-based examination
Licensing
Currently holds a Professional Engineering License preferred but not required
