INEOS has an exciting opportunity for an Americas SHE Specialist to join our Composites business at our Columbus, OH location.
INEOS Composites is a global chemical business with sales volume of 320 kte and revenue in excess of $1 billion. The Composites business has 6 manufacturing operations in the US, 1 in Brazil, 4 in Europe, 2 in China along with offices and headquarters in Ohio, Barcelona and Shanghai. The Composites Business primary products include unsaturated polyester resins (UPRs), vinyl ester resins (VERs) and gel coats.
Job Objective
The Americas SHE Specialist will maintain and guide the INEOS Columbus area Safety, Health, Environmental, and security programs along with providing key SHE support to the Bartow and other Composite Plants. This is done by directing and participating, contributing, and leading the INEOS Composites SHE and Culture of Prevention policies and SHE activities (in line with the INEOS Composites & Enterprise SHE Policies & IGGNs) to ensure continuous improvement in performance and compliance with state and local rules and regulations, along with OSHA and EPA requirements. The INEOS Columbus area is made up of 2 locations. The Grandview office (shared with the rest of INEOS Enterprises) and the current Dublin Campus Research and Development site (moving to a new Site in early 2025).
Key Responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to:
Advise leaders in the Columbus area on any SHE related issues / incidents and reduce risks to eliminate future incidents
Ensure Columbus operations are compliant with safety, health & environmental laws, standards/regulations, through managing and updating procedures and conducting and coordinate internal safety audits (AsCare, Laboratory, SUSA, operational) and studies.
Lead incident investigations for all Near Misses/Near Hits/Personal Injures
Develop and schedule monthly trainings for all employees (in-person & online)
Assist with daily permitting and SHE related concerns
Managing, monitoring, and completing management action items from internal and external audits.
Coordinate and lead major safety projects in relation with security, laboratory safety, industrial hygiene, etc
Provide SHE support and advice as required to related issues or concerns to Bartow employees and staff
Providing SHE Expertise and support to INEOS Composites (U.S.) SHE Managers
Supporting Global SHE Manager with weekly action items and other SHE related projects across the U.S. or worldwide
Provide SHE support for the new Laboratory construction, occupancy, and future 2025 move
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in environmental health & safety or similar
3 years' experience in manufacturing or chemical R&D is preferred
Able to work independently; strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, etc
Public speaking during meetings and training will be needed
Ability to communicate with multiple tenants and contractors
Quick decision-making during Safety meetings and jobs/tasks
Ability to walk up/downstairs, climb up/down ladders & move up to 50 lbs. (if needed)
Have a U.S. Driver's License and ability to drive a vehicle to and from work along with traveling by plane, train, etc
Ability to travel to U.S. Composite facilities and assist with training and other SHE requests or concerns
