The Junior NPI (New Product Introduction) Engineer is responsible for ensuring that new products are manufacturable and meet production quality standards. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and production, to transition new products from concept to full-scale manufacturing. The Junior NPI Engineer will also develop and document clear, concise work instructions for production assemblers to ensure efficient and consistent product assembly.
Key Responsibilities: • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to review new product designs for manufacturability and recommend improvements. • Develop, document, and update work instructions and assembly procedures for production teams. • Work closely with production assemblers to validate and refine work instructions through pilot builds and feedback loops. • Assist in the creation and implementation of process flow charts and production line layouts for new products. • Conduct feasibility studies and prototype builds to identify potential manufacturing issues early in the development process. • Support the transition of products from engineering to manufacturing, ensuring a seamless scale-up process. • Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address manufacturing challenges. • Maintain accurate records of all processes, instructions, and revisions for quality control and auditing purposes. • Provide training and technical support to production assemblers regarding new product assembly techniques.
Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field preferred. • Experience in manufacturing, product development, or a related role (entry-level candidates with relevant internships are welcome to apply). • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and techniques. • Proficiency in creating technical documentation and work instructions. • Familiarity with CAD software and basic engineering drawing interpretation. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects within tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in the interconnect or electronics manufacturing industry is a plus. • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices. • Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO standards). • Experience with semi-automated manufacturing equipment.
