Digital Manufacturing Project Engineer - Rochester, NY Area
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead projects related to electrical and sustainability.
Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Develop and implement control systems, including PLC programming, HMI design and SCADA systems.
Develop and maintain documentation, including electrical schematics, control system diagrams, and technical specifications.
Conduct periodic site observations and other services required by the contract service agreement.
Collaborate with mechanical engineers, process engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical and control systems into manufacturing equipment and processes.
Provide technical support and training to production teams to ensure proper operation and maintenance of electrical and control systems.
Develop and grow a team of automation engineers as needed.
YOUR SKILLS
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
Some experience in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMI design, and SCADA systems.
Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, including power distribution, motor control, and instrumentation.
Strong critical thinking, problem solving, prioritization, and data analysis skills.
Must have familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations, such as NEC, NFPA, and UL standards.
Experience with CAD software for electrical design (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN) is preferred.
Must be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel.
Must be able to adapt to changing priorities and execute effectively to launch and capital execution deadlines.
Ability to coach and lead others to achieve results, following all safety, quality, and productivity policies and procedures
5-10 years work experience in a manufacturing environment fulfilling an electrical engineer role or similar.
0-3 years experience in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMI design, and SCADA systems.
