Join a growing electronics manufacturing company in southwest Houston, we seeking a Process Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and implementing manufacturing processes for printed circuit board assemblies, cable assemblies, and mechanical assemblies. Responsibilities:
Analyze product designs and specifications to determine manufacturing requirements, equipment needs, and production methods
Develop efficient processes, tooling, fixturing, and testing methods for electronic assemblies
Create and optimize work instructions, process documentation, and control plans
Lead process qualification runs and validate that processes meet quality and efficiency targets
Verify process plans prior to production (Procedures, Stencils, Pick & Place Programming, Components, Reflow Profile, AOI programming, X-Ray, consumables, etc.)
Identify and implement process improvements through data analysis and engineering changes
Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and provide technical support to production team
Ensure processes comply with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and operations teams
Perform and log maintenance and calibration of all production equipment as required
Submit recommendations and justifications for tooling and machines as needed through capital appropriations requests
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or a related field or equivalent related work experience. A relevant professional certification is a plus.
Proven experience in a process engineering role in electronics manufacturing or a similar industry, with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, components, and assembly techniques.
Solid knowledge of reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and customer documentation.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with customers, internal teams, and suppliers.
Problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and make informed decisions.
Familiarity with quality control and assurance processes, with a commitment to ensuring the highest level of product quality.
Working knowledge of quality systems such as ISO 9001, AS9100, Lean, Six Sigma
Proficiency in relevant software applications, such as project management tools, such as ERP/MRP systems, Google Suite, or Microsoft Office.
Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.
