The Role

Your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Work in a collaborative engineering team to help develop a pipe inspection robot.
  • Work under the mentorship of our experienced Lead Electrical Engineer.
  • Revise and improve existing solutions to improve their reliability and performance.
  • Design new solutions as part of new product development efforts.
  • Test the robot's electrical equipment, components, and systems.
  • Perform trade-off studies for different solutions, including make/buy recommendations.
  • Write documentation to facilitate future diagnostics, redesigns, and manufacturing.
  • Resolve problems encountered in testing, quality assurance processes, and field use.
  • Collaborate with the software engineers who develop the embedded software and the mechanical engineers who develop the robots' hardware.
  • Work closely with the rest of the engineers and take a systems level approach to deliver the best possible product together.

What You Bring

We require the following qualifications:
  • Curiosity, resilience, and drive.

  • Demonstrated record of being a kind and trustworthy teammate.
  • BS degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in Embedded Electronics, or relevant advanced degree.
  • Designing PCBA schematics and layouts.
  • Working with microcontrollers, digital sensors, and digital circuits design.

We encourage experience and knowledge in the following areas:
  • Designing multi-layer PCBAs for constrained 3D form factors.
  • Designing boards for advanced SoM and SoC systems.
  • Designing with high-speed interfaces, such as HDMI, USB3, or Gigabit Ethernet.
  • Working analog sensors and analog circuit design to interface with digital circuits.
  • Working with batteries, power management, and safety.
  • Working with brushed and brushless DC motors and associated motor controllers/drivers.
  • Experience with designing cable harnesses and cable management solutions.
