Role Overview: • Lead and oversee mechanical design for diverse projects, providing technical guidance and direction to support staff in achieving project goals. • Collaborate with department heads and directors to expand project scope into new markets and support professional growth as both an engineer and leader. • Stay informed of industry trends, including decarbonization, code updates, and client/project-specific targets, adapting mechanical direction accordingly. • Work closely with internal and external teams to align project workflow and deliverables with objectives. • Manage project fees, budgets, scope, and financial tracking. • Participate in staffing, training, performance reviews, and development, working alongside technical leaders. • Contribute to strategic planning to shape the firm's engineering direction and objectives.
Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; PE license preferred. • 5+ years of relevant mechanical design experience, with leadership on complex building systems preferred. • Proficiency in preparing and reviewing design documents (reports, drawings, specifications). • Strong communication skills for both internal and client interactions; ability to write and edit technical materials. • Self-motivated, accountable, and able to work with minimal supervision in a hybrid environment. • Ability to manage competing deadlines and multiple tasks, using strategic prioritization. • Familiarity with business development, marketing, and public relations is a plus. Proficiency: • Revit and AutoCAD for senior engineering and layout tasks. • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook). • Knowledge of building load calculation tools (e.g., Trane Trace) and other industry-standard software.
