The Manager of Engineering within the Development Engineering team plays a key role in supporting the Engineering team by managing electrical engineering requests across all development projects. This position is involved in all aspects of electrical design for renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, energy storage, and other technologies for both utility-scale and distributed generation.
Responsibilities encompass a broad range of tasks such as due diligence for IM&A, site selection, feasibility studies, new technology evaluation, RFI support, proposal assessments, conceptual design, design reviews, and CAPEX estimates.
The role requires a strong understanding of key electrical components such as wind turbines, solar PV modules, batteries, combiner boxes, inverters, transformers, DC and AC collection systems, switchgear, and PV SCADA systems. A focus on environmental stewardship and fostering a culture of health and safety within the engineering team is essential. Additional duties include providing ongoing support for operational facilities as required.
The Manager will also handle electrical engineering inquiries for all development projects, including CAPEX input requests, early engineering and construction-related questions, and coordination with the Transmission Interconnection and Engineering Execution teams, particularly in relation to the interconnection queue, until the project secures PPA investment approval.
