Our client is a growing IATF16949 certified manufacturer of Brake rotors and calipers for Racing and High-Performance Niche OE applications. We have an immediate career opportunity for a SupplierQuality Engineer. This is a mid-level position in Quality.

Duties for the role
Responsibilities:
ensuring suppliers for the company maintain all regulations and requirements
creating and updating a supplier database with updated records of performance
reviewing guidelines for product assembly and ensuring all materials and resources are available
creating quality control guidelines and protocols
training new employees, suppliers, and vendors on quality assurance procedures and protocols
providing advice to vendors on how to reduce defect rates
performing logistics tasks, such as communicating with vendors when supplies don't meet quality standards
assessing products and supplies from vendors to ensure their quality
ensuring manufacturing processes comply with requirements and guidelines
creating and promoting strategies to increase the quality and efficiency of systems and products
conducting audits of quality systems (supplier and internal)
completing system maintenance when necessary
assist in researching the best vendors and suppliers with purchasing
acting as a liaison between vendors and company leaders, determining solutions to any challenges to quality standards
visiting vendor facilities to ensure they uphold quality standards
leading other employees involved in assessing supplier quality standards
developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and vendors
lead / monitor supplier launches on quality/delivery/costs/timing
Skills:
must be able to audit to IATF16949 or ISO 9001 along with PFMEA/CP audits.
extensive ability to navigate and use Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/SharePoint/etc)
must be personable and be able to work with suppliers and internal customers as a TEAM
must have AIAG experience with PPAP/PFMEA/CP/MSA/SPC and have done ppap approvals.
ability to learn the CMMs
use general quality measurement devices: calipers, micrometers, height gages, radius gages, Optical Comparator, rockwell hardness, profilometer, thickness gages (electronic), etc.
solid use of 8D/5Whys and driving completion of supplier concerns
ability to negotiate on hard issues
Use of SAP/PLEX a plus
Must be able to travel up to 50%
Supplier quality experience
(stamping/plating/casting/materials preferred)
Education:
4 year degree in Engineering or Supplier Quality or experience.
