Company Overview: A rapidly expanding construction company with a strong presence in multiple states. Initially based in New York, the company entered the Texas market in 2019, starting with border wall projects and quickly branching into highways and bridges. The company now has offices in Houston, Austin, and Mission, Texas, as well as in Georgia, Virginia, and Florida.
Position: Project Manager
Responsibilities:
Safety:
Ensure overall job safety as per the safety manual.
Ensure test holes are dug where required.
Report any damage to utility lines to the Vice President of Field Operations.
Ensure the job site meets all OSHA standards, including cleanliness.
Ensure everyone on site follows all safety protocols, including AHAs and daily Tool Box Talks.
Payments/Financial:
Perform daily quantity reviews.
Participate in monthly reviews of estimates and pending submissions for payment.
Report all extra or non-contract work to the Division Manager.
Process all estimates promptly.
Prepare and submit change orders to the Owner.
Review and approve subcontractor invoices.
Perform accurate project financial forecasting related to revenue, costs, and profitability.
Payroll and Equipment Reports:
Ensure the accuracy of payroll and equipment information.
Maintain petty cash.
Prepare Monthly Cost Estimates/Forecasts.
Scheduling:
Control all material deliveries, production schedules, and long lead-time items.
Coordinate work with subcontractors.
Coordinate utility requirements with providers.
Coordinate schedule activities with the site superintendent.
Notify the Owner of any schedule impacts per Contract Documents.
Planning:
Maintain all records and files efficiently in the field office.
Develop and implement a project schedule that meets the owner's goals.
Ensure project activities are thoroughly and properly planned.
Supervision:
Supervise and ensure all tasks are carried out by the Project Team.
Qualifications:
B.S. Degree in Engineering with 7+ years of related experience. Preferably 2+ years in a project manager role with a contract value of $10M+.
Significant experience in Trenchless/Underground construction.
Experience in Heavy Construction (site-work, roads, bridges, environmental, support of excavation, foundations, piles, sanitary sewers, or sewer wastewater treatment plants).
Must be capable of meeting deadlines, self-motivated, detail-oriented, have above-average interpersonal skills, and have excellent follow-through capability.
Verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment; able to accurately process written documents, perform duties in a timely manner, be highly organized, and communicate effectively with company, clients, and field personnel at all levels.
