Job Description:
Reporting to the Director of Food Safety & Quality Assurance, this position is responsible for fostering a culture of quality excellence focused on supplier approvals, customer documentation, third party warehouse documentation and audits, and co-manufacturer documentation. This role will support the Quality Department and Corporate Director of Food Safety and Quality Assurance in other project activities as needed.
General Responsibilities:
Reviews, maintains and approves documentation related to supplier approvals working with suppliers to assure completion of documentation and analysis of risk to processes.
Maintains supplier defect program providing company feedback and driving completion on actions, and trending analysis for supplier performance across the company.
Regularly review customer and consumer feedback identifying trends to determine continuous improvement initiatives.
Provides technical support for resolution to issues relative to key process indicators in quality and food safety.
Responds to and provides timely completion of customer requests for documentation.
Manages co-manufacturer documentation to support company initiatives.
Coordinate and collaborate with QA teams members to implement best practices.
Partner with other departments to create risk mitigation programs.
Other projects, as required.
Job Requirements:
HACCP certification from a nationally recognized and accredited HACCP training firm required.
Bachelor's degree in food safety, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, or other science related field required.
3+ years of progressive food safety experience within a manufacturing environment under HACCP, USDA and/or FDA.
Previous experience with Safety Quality Foods or SQF Expert Practitioner certification
Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) for Human Food
Data analysis and statistical process control experience with attention to detail and accuracy
Comprehensive experience with FDA and/or USDA rules and regulations.
Must be willing to be located in Atlanta office daily.
Must be willing travel up to 20% for projects as needed.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based applications.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Skill in organization and prioritization, and attention to detail.
Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.
Preferred:
Experience in Trace Gains or other Laboratory Information Systems (LIMS) systems preferred.
