This position is responsible for maximizing the production and profitability AEC operated producing oil and gas wells. The role will have a strong focus on production optimization, responsible LOE control, and managing company goals as it relates to their area of responsibility. The ideal candidate will have a strong EH&S focus, extensive artificial lift knowledge, functional knowledge of oil and gas facilities and strong commitment to continuous improvement. This position will be in AEC's Denver office and will report to the Production Manager. Periodic travel to field locations will be required.
Major Responsibilities:
Daily surveillance of operated oil and gas assets focused on analysis of well performance vs capacity
Interact with and influence field production staff ensuring proper daily production data entry
Assist in asset management planning for assigned area of responsibility
Workover planning, budgeting, design, cost tracking and execution requiring frequent communication with wellsite supervision
Artificial lift design, optimization and troubleshooting including but not limited to gas lift, plunger assisted gas lift, rod pump, and ESP
Actively engage in the design process of surface facilities and support field staff in troubleshooting issues as they arise
Review and write technical reports for engineering and management personnel
Provide accurate cost budgeting for proposed projects along with thorough economic analysis for justification
Ability to carry multiple business improvement projects while maintaining excellence in day-to-day responsibilities
Responsible for accurate tracking of capital and LOE expense
Active understanding and participation in PSSRs, PHAs and HAZOP reviews of facilities
Actively manage asset liabilities as well as plan and manage plug and abandonment activity
Interface with regulatory group to ensure proper production reporting
Interface with working interest partners, service companies, and regulatory agencies
Qualifications and Capabilities
5-10 years of related industry experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering is required
Experience in cross functional petroleum disciplines preferred
Fluency in written and spoken use of the English language is required
Current and up to date software capability using office and collaborative applications is required
Excellent written and spoken communication skills are required
Ability to work alone under own initiative, or in close collaboration with field production team and other engineering disciplines is required.
Ability to perform analysis, interpretation and problem solving at all levels of complexity with varying volumes of data
Ability to work in and travel to AEC asset areas; position will require approximately 25% of time in field
