Purpose
The Resolution Specialist is responsible for performing intake and Rx Setup (facilitating the processing of prescriptions) activities, and functions in accordance with company policies and procedures to assist in the flow of dispensing drugs to the patient.
Key Responsibilities
The Advanced Care Team is a department that works orders from end to end (fax to FedEx)
Review contents of referral to ensure complete and accurate information has been received. Create a patient profile from a scanned or faxed image by entering correct patient and provider information to ensure all other groups can successfully serve the patient
Conduct initial check of prescription to ensure clinical accuracy for processing
Communicate with providers regarding referral status, prescription clarification, missing information, or patient concerns so that all information is collected and accurate before it reaches other teams for furthering processing Updating concise progress notes to ensure other roles within the workflow can quickly assess the status of the referral
Enter new provider information (i.e., National Provider Identifier) accurately into the system so that the Business Intelligence group can complete their reporting
Enter pharmacy benefits or medical benefits and adjudicate claim
Resolve any claim issues
Initiate prior authorization for the medication if needed
Find funds and grants for the patient if needed
Work all new drug launch medications for the first 6 months
Work Escalation Smartsheet to resolve any escalation issues
Handle all US Oncology Network prescriber referrals
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirement
Typically requires 5+ years of related experience.
Education
High School Diploma required
Certifications
Current CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) certification required; must be current, without restrictions
Registered with Texas State Board of Pharmacy required; must be current, without restrictions (if in Texas) Registered with North Carolina Board of Pharmacy (if in North Carolina)
Critical Skills
5+ years pharmacy experience
Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, attention detail and work under pressure. Effective communicator who can multitask.
Preferred Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft applications
Collaborative and willing to learn new things to go above and beyond expectations
Flexible, adaptable, conscientious and detail oriented
