Job Summary



Department-Specific Responsibilities


  • Responsible for designing and administering inclusive student programming to enhance and reinforce the academic engagement and experiential learning capacity of the student experience.

  • Frequently interfaces directly with students and collaborates with staff in the Kelley School and across campus on shared student programming goals.

  • Provides an equitable and safe space for staff to work and students to thrive.

  • Oversees the portfolio of semester and summer study abroad programs for undergraduate students at the Kelley School.

  • Manages key working relationships with global partners and constituents across the business school, campus and in the local community in delivering international programs and services. This includes collaborating with international partners on program proposals, implementing a comprehensive and inclusive student recruitment, selection and assessment process, and communicating crisis management protocols to stakeholders.

  • Supervises the Study Abroad Advisor.

General Responsibilities


  • Develops and implements programs and initiatives geared at enhancing and reinforcing the academic engagement and experiential learning capacity of the student experience. Projects programming outcomes at the program, department/division, or campus level.

  • Interfaces directly with students, attending student programming events and gathering satisfaction feedback from student participants to implement into future student programming initiatives and objectives.

  • Collaborates with staff in own department and other departments, as well as academic and campus leaders, on shared student programming goals, often coordinating funding to sponsor student programs.

  • Measures and evaluates effectiveness of student programs against projected outcomes; regularly prepares reports on impact to students and budget and presents to stakeholders on effectiveness and to secure funding for initiatives moving forward.

  • Serves on committees and performs student programming research across the field of higher education and at peer institutions to identify and recommend best practices.

  • Plans and coordinates communications and targeted outreach for student programming initiatives to ensure student participation and inclusion.

  • May provide guidance to other Student Programming Specialists; makes process recommendations to manager for improved delivery of service.

  • May serve on various campus or cross-functional committees to share student programming best practices.

EDUCATION



Required



  • Bachelor's degree in education, social work, public affairs, counseling, business, or related field


Preferred



  • Master's degree in higher education student affairs or related field

WORK EXPERIENCE



Required



  • 5 years in student services, higher education, or related field


Preferred



  • Previous experience working, living, and/or studying abroad

  • 2 years of experience in international education, higher education or related field

Working Conditions / Demands



This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.



Work Location



The position will require domestic and/or international travel.



Work Hours



Also may require work on some evenings or weekends outside the traditional workday.
