Mission

Waséyabek Federal Services, LLC (WFS) is a 100% Tribally owned, Native American SBA 8(a) small business of the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi (NHBP). WFS is part of a portfolio of companies managed by Waséyabek Development Company, LLC, a 100% Tribally owned economic development firm focused on income diversification on behalf of NHBP that reaches beyond gaming is a well-funded, experienced small business, with substantial liquid assets and experience in federal contracting. WFS has borrowing capacity to meet the daily cash needs of new business development, new award support, and operational working capital. WFS is well-versed in federal contract compliance and providing outstanding support services.


Position Summary:

Perform troubleshooting and repairs on basic plumbing fixtures and associated piping. Carpentry skill should include installation and repairs on doors, windows, minor building repairs and other duties assigned. Assist other qualified technicians with maintenance tasks on electrical or HVAC equipment as directed by supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Work from approved standard and special procedures.
  • Perform simple or routine activities based on skills and knowledge attained from training and previous experience. Obtain guidance from more experienced technicians and supervision when the condition warrants.
  • Complete work orders, service requests and stores orders.
  • Follow/comply with applicable Safety and Rad Con policies and procedures.
  • Attend and successfully complete classroom, on-the-job and other forms of training.
  • Operate motorized vehicles and associated equipment within licensing limits.
  • Perform single point lockouts.
  • Perform administrative functions such as read and understand manuals and procedures.
  • Other administrative function as needed to perform job.


Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or other equivalent State Credential
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state Driver’s License and have a good driving record. Motor Vehicle Records will be ordered and checked as part of pre-employment screening.
  • Must be able to communicate in writing and in person
  • Must pass General Employee Training (GET) and be able to obtain a site security badge
  • Must be able to successfully complete Hazardous Energy Control (Lockout/Tagout) Training
  • Must be able to successfully complete Rad Worker I Training (RWTI)
  • Must be proficient in use of computer for recording/documenting daily work history in CMMS (Asset Suite).
  • Steward the organizational culture with a focus on teamwork and commitment to service amidst a diverse colleague and customer base.
  • Ability to quickly adapt focus, adjust schedule and problem solve to meet evolving work demands and needs of supervisor and other stakeholders.
  • Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also work independently and balance multiple competing priorities and tasks.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Ability to pass an extensive background investigation, including but not limited to personal and professional financial history, nationwide criminal record search, credit check and other relevant background information deemed necessary by WDC.

Preferred Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Prior knowledge or experience working with a Native American Tribe.

Travel Requirements:

Some travel may be required, up to 10% of the time. The travel may be local or national and may be by car, rail, or air.
