Volt is immediately hiring for Assembly Operators in the City of Industry, CA.
As a Assembly Operator you will:
Recognize and address calibration issues with measuring tools like micrometers and calipers.
Operate and maintain various tools, including micrometers, calipers, comparators, microscopes, and tensile testers.
Understand basic assembly terminology and identify major systems such as power supply, controls, and feeding systems in assembly machines.
Adhere to quality and production standards, perform minor troubleshooting, and use appropriate testing and lubrication tools.
Interpret technical documents, such as hardbacks and product drawings, and perform/document first article inspections and quality checks according to procedures.
Conduct computer transactions for assembly operations and collaborate with supervisors on systems like T-Card and production management.
Initiate and prioritize maintenance work orders.
Understand part feature terminology and read/interpret product drawings, bills of material, control plans, and work instructions.
Differentiate between single and double-action assemblies.
Follow Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
Be aware of specific job-related hazards and understand the plant's EHS rules and policies.
Use employee signatures for production sign-off, complete procedural training, and be familiar with relevant documentation and quality policies.
Engage with leadership for guidance, openly communicate about job performance, and strive to meet or exceed key performance indicators.
This is a full time, temp to hire opportunity. 1st (5am-1:30pm) and 2nd (1:30pm-10pm) shifts are available with possible OT
The ideal candidate will have:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Ability to read and understand blueprints.
High school diploma or GED, with 0-2 years of experience in operating various assembly machines, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Regularly required to stand, use hands to handle or feel objects, and communicate effectively.
Occasionally required to walk, reach with hands and arms, and kneel or crouch.
Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Pay Rate: $20 per hr
