The Electrical Test Technician is responsible for conducting comprehensive testing activities to verify the integrity and performance of Gaven’s shielding products. This role requires proficiency in both electrical wiring and assembly to ensure product readiness and functionality. Testing and assembly work is performed both in-house and off-site at client facilities, requiring a high degree of technical expertise and attention to detail. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining product quality standards and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Responsibilities:
Tests electrical filters using pulsed current injection equipment and ensures the resulting data is properly recorded and analyzed.
Performs shielding effectiveness testing to determine the performance of a shielded enclosure; if shielding issues are discovered, recommend rework to production personnel.
Performs electrical wiring and assembly tasks, including but not limited to:
Installing and securing electrical components such as connectors, terminals, and circuit boards.
Routing and organizing wiring to ensure proper layout and functionality.
Inspecting, testing, and troubleshooting wiring systems to identify and resolve issues.
Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams and schematics to ensure accurate assembly.
Redlining and proposing improvements to wiring diagrams, schematics, or wire routing.
Accurately fills out test records, inventory logbooks, test reports, and other documentation.
Develops improvements for ongoing work procedures.
Develops testing methodologies.
Troubleshoots to resolve issues such as incorrect equipment configurations, faulty data recording methods, defective devices under test, or wiring faults.
Additional duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
Due to customer requirements, must be U.S. citizen and have (or be eligible for) a DoD Security Clearance.
Experience using Microsoft Office.
Ability to travel 25% to 40% of the year.
Ability to lift objects that weigh up to 50 lbs.
Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
Algebra-level math knowledge.
Ability to collect and analyze data.
Basic understanding of electrical wiring, assembly, and related tools.
Education / Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree preferred.
Experience with operating signal measurement equipment including oscilloscopes, network and spectrum analyzers, amplifiers, signal generators, fiber optic cables and converters, preferred.
Experience with electrical wiring and assembly, preferred.
