Description:

Responsibilities

Basic Purpose

Provides inventory control and warehouse support for generation facilities. Ensures all inventory control and warehouse operational processes are conducted in compliance with applicable policies, procedures and regulations. Performs a variety of inventory control and material handling tasks in support of plant operations. Develops operational procedures and actively participates in continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performs and/or monitors the warehousing functions, including receiving, inspecting, storing, controlling, issuing, shipping and returning of materials to inventory

Ensures the warehouse is compliant with OSHA and safety requirements and maintained in a neat, clean and organized manner for efficient utilization. Conducts needs assessments and periodically reviews storage space for optimization and efficiency.

Assists plant maintenance in the planning of material requirements for major outages and projects.

Expedites requirements as needed to ensure availability of material. Participates in planning meetings.

Performs acceptance inspection of inventory items designated as quality assurance (QA) material. Resolves quality discrepancies with plant customers and suppliers.

Responsible for conducting cycle counts to ensure compliance with FERC requirements. Performs research and conducts analysis for cycle count discrepancies.

Reviews inventory catalog data for accuracy and coordinates updates and corrections with the material management group. Assists plant maintenance with the initiation of new inventory items.

Oversees distribution and sharing of materials across warehouse locations, temporary job site assignments and supports operating units throughout the company.

Develops and implements warehouse policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with rules and regulations.

Supports external labor in plant projects and outages.

Reports and documents all work-related injuries and provides immediate medical attention to injured employees as necessary.

Complies with all environmental regulations regarding the handling, storage, testing and disposal of hazardous and dangerous materials.

Supports plant investment recovery activities and coordinates the disposition of equipment and material with the material management group.

Ensures meeting performance metrics established on the Warehouse Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Report.

Participates on cross-functional teams.

Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company.

Performs related duties as assigned. .

Requirements

Essential Education, Skills, and Environment
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree in the area of specialty from an accredited school and 3 years of related experience. Must be certified to operate a forklift or be successfully certified within 3 months of hire.

Candidates that do not possess a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of 7 years of related work experience. Must be certified to operate a forklift or be successfully certified within 3 months of hire.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of:

  • Material handling equipment.

Skills such as:

  • Problem-solving, conflict resolution, people management, interpersonal, customer service, motivational, planning and communication.

Equipment and Applications
PCs, word processing, spreadsheet, computerized inventory management system and variety of material handling equipment.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
May involve indoor and outdoor work in various climates. Sitting, standing, climbing, stooping, walking, kneeling occasionally for long periods. Travel between Las Vegas Generating Station and Walter M. Higgins Generating Station will be required. Some overnight travel required.

Compensation

Annual Salary: $78,500 (Min) to $92,300 (Mid); Potential Safety Bonus 12%. The company reserves the right to determine the number of positions awarded for this requisition.
