Our Food & Beverages client located in Middleton, Massachusetts and recently purchased by private equity is seeking an Interim CFO/VP Finance who will serve as a strategic partner to the new ownership, providing hands-on leadership to drive key initiatives aimed at preparing the company for rapid growth. This is a boots-on-the-ground, day-one leadership role that requires a seasoned financial professional with expertise in financial strategy, team building, and operational transformation. The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping the company's financial strategy, implementing standardized financial processes, and providing strategic guidance on key decisions.
Location: This position is onsite in Middleton, Massachusetts.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with executive leadership to build and execute a robust financial strategy that aligns with the company's growth objectives and operational needs.
Standardize and implement a streamlined monthly close process, ensuring accuracy and timely financial reporting that supports decision-making across the organization.
Assess the existing finance team, processes, and technology infrastructure, identifying opportunities for improvement and driving initiatives to enhance efficiency, scalability, and overall performance.
Lead the financial evaluation and modeling of selling the company's warehouse and transitioning to an outsourced/third-party warehousing model. Provide financial analysis and recommendations to optimize operational costs and support strategic growth.
Serve as a key strategic partner to the executive team, providing financial insights, analysis, and recommendations to support major business decisions and prepare the organization for rapid expansion.
Partner with private equity stakeholders to ensure alignment with investor expectations, manage financial reporting requirements, and drive value creation through strategic financial planning, capital allocation, and operational improvements
Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture that is aligned with the company's strategic vision.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders across departments, ensuring alignment of financial strategies with overall business goals. Represent the finance function to external stakeholders, as necessary.
Qualifications:
10+ years in of proven experience in financial leadership roles, including prior experience as a VP Finance, CFO, or similar senior financial executive in a high-growth environment.
Strong experience in leading financial transformation, process improvements, and system implementations.
Expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, and strategic decision-making, particularly in assessing complex operational changes (such as warehousing transitions).
Ability to be hands-on and lead by example, especially during times of change and growth.
Proven track record in managing and developing finance teams, with a focus on driving performance and operational excellence.
Experience with outsourcing/third-party vendor management, particularly in logistics or warehousing operations, is highly desirable.
Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive change.
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA is a plus.
