Our busy client has an immediate need for a hands-on leader to help our client drive the innovation of the future of emissions reduction technology. The successful candidate will oversee the development of new products on a fast-paced development cycle, while making an impact through building and leading a development team and working with cutting edge technology and industry experts. They will lead new highly technical product devel-opment projects from the requirements definition through product release to production in a phase gate process. They will be responsible for building cross-functional project teams and plan the resources needed to meet project goals.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing a small engineering team as well as exposure to modern pro-ject management tools/methodologies such as waterfall, Agile, APF, six sigma and lean. They will have experi-ence managing
the cost/schedule/performance tradeoffs inherent in new product development and respond effectively to external events, contingencies and unplanned resource bottlenecks. Additional Responsibilities and Requirements
Create the product requirements ensuring features determined product development team, management and the customer are prioritized and facilitate the detailed product design specifications for the develop-ment team.
Lead regular design and phase gate reviews to monitor and improve the product development effort to en-sure the final design meets all agreed-upon requirements.
Communicate progress on a regular basis and makes executive summary-level presentations to nontech-nical stakeholders when needed.
Collaborate with other departments in planning for new product release to manufacturing and introduction to sales and field service organizations.
Possess data analytics skills related to project management and use of statistical/quantitative methods to track progress toward on-time delivery of a quality product.
Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project and Excel.
Experience as a technical contributing manager in a successful product development team.
