About the Role
The Product Development Engineer is responsible for the creation and maintenance of detailed engineering CAD models, 2D drawings and other Engineering documentation. This position will work alongside design and manufacturing engineers to generate 3D models of outdoor adventure vehicles and is responsible for the generation and maintenance of all supporting documentation.
About You/ Key Responsibilities
Utilize AutoCAD Inventor to create and maintain 3D models based on engineering designs
Create 2D technical drawings for use by shop floor personal and quality team members
Work alongside design and manufacturing engineers to troubleshoot design issues using 3D models
Maintain file structure best practices for all engineering drawings and models
Maintain PDF drawing database and specification sheets for use by other departments
Maintain shop floor drawing books
Create and submit plan packets for regulating bodies
Create and maintain owners manual for each product line
Other responsibilities as required
Qualifications
A minimum of 3 years of applied CAD experience or degree with focus on CAD
In-depth knowledge/experience of recreational vehicles and/or outdoor adventure vehicles a plus
Manufacturing background a plus
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced Production and Engineering environment
Must be skilled at trouble shooting and resolving design problems that arise
Must have excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and closely follow directions
Physical Demands
May be required to lift objects weighing up to 60 pounds
Regularly required to sit, stand and walk about the facility - occasionally spending extended periods of time standing, and bending or stooping
Work Environment
Works in both an office / production environment and out on the manufacturing floor.
