The Director of Finance is a key strategic and operational leader responsible for overseeing financial planning, analysis, reporting, and compliance activities. This role focuses on cost management, financial forecasting, and process optimization to drive profitability and operational efficiency. Working closely with CFO, management and department heads, the Director of Finance ensures that financial practices support the organization's manufacturing and overall business goals.
Responsibilities/Expectations:
Financial Planning and Analysis -
Developing and executing financial strategies aligned with business objectives and growth targets.
Lead the financial planning process, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
Collaborate with operations and production teams to create accurate and achievable financial projections.
Financial Reporting and Compliance -
Prepare timely and accurate financial reports as requested by leadership. Review monthly financial reporting package for accuracy
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, leading tax filling for the organization.
Prepare compliance certificates and other bank reports
Lead the annual audit process, working with external auditors to ensure transparency and accountability.
Lead other audits as needed
Cost Management -
Implement and monitor cost-saving initiatives within production and operational areas to improve profitability.
Conduct detailed variance analysis to understand and address fluctuations in costs and revenues.
Operational Support and Process Improvement -
Work closely with manufacturing teams to analyze cost structures, margins, and production processes, identifying areas for financial and operational improvements.
Optimize financial processes and leverage ERP systems to streamline reporting, and data management.
Support capital expenditure planning and provide financial guidance on significant investments.
Risk Management and Internal Controls -
Identify financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them, including insurance, and financial controls.
Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data accuracy.
Conduct regular risk assessments and develop policies to minimize financial exposure.
Experience Level/Qualifications:
The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing and service environment, with hands-on finance experience. The candidate must have participated in strategic initiatives to drive growth and expansion. The ideal candidate will also have strong communication and analytical skills.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (master's degree or CPA designation preferred).
