The Accountant is an entry to a mid-level position responsible for assisting the finance department in creating accurate and timely financial records for the organization. Responsible for month-end closing procedures, reconciling accounts, and preparing reports. Assist with balance sheet reconciliations as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports, to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to standards defined within the department.
Review and analyze data relating to prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, job costing and revenue recognition for contracts.
Report to the accounting manager on the finances of the organization.
Establish records of accounts and input entries into proper accounts.
Document and ensure proper keeping of financial records, making use of current technologies.
Prepare forms and manuals for accounting and bookkeeping personnel.

Preferred education and experience.
Associate/Bachelor's degree in accounting or an equivalent number of years of experience.
CPA certificate.
2-5 years experience in the accounting field
Prefer auditing experience in Big 5.
Strong knowledge of functions in Excel.
Knowledge and experience with dual-entry accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliation
