Investment Analyst - Austin, Texas

12th Street Real Estate ("12th Street") is a real estate investment firm that specializes in the self-storage industry. Based in Austin, Texas, 12th Street is uniquely positioned to leverage its relationships with self-storage owners, operators, vendors, and service provides to acquire self-storage facilities with limited partner investors.

About the Role:

This investment role will work directly with the Principals of the firm and will be expected to coordinate work product across the investment, asset management, capital development, and accounting functions of the company.

This person will develop a wholistic real estate investing background by participating in the entire investment process alongside the Principals of the firm.

Responsibilities include:
  • Thorough underwriting of all new real estate investment opportunities.
  • Build, update, and maintain asset level underwriting models to track performance, expected returns, valuation, buy/sell analysis, and KPIs.
  • Develop and maintain asset management presentations showing monthly, quarterly, and year-end performance vs. underwriting.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis for management as requested.
  • Assist in the closing process for all transactions relating to domain, utility, and contract services transfers as well as the decision to keep current property manager and/or on-boarding a new property manager.
  • Assist in preparation of marketing materials for capital development.
  • Monitor market and submarket fundamentals.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field with strong academic credentials.
  • 2+ years of related finance experience (accounting, real estate, banking, etc.)
  • High level proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional Suite, specifically in Excel and Power Point.
  • Detail oriented with an ability to manage multiple tasks often in a confidential nature.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Interact with a wide range of parties, including property managers, regional managers, sellers, investors, vendors, title companies, etc.
  • Team player with a coachable and professional attitude.
