We are seeking a highly motivated hands-on Controller for a specialty contractor in the DC Metro area. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in accounting within the construction industry
Responsibilities:
Handle day-to-day financial reporting and analysis
Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, statements, and analysis to support decision-making.
Provide regular updates to senior management on key financial metrics.
Handle the accounting operations within the company
Manage daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, job costing, and general ledger activities.
Manage the monthly, quarterly and annual close process.
Collaborate with other members of the accounting department to ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
Leverage experience in construction accounting to address industry-specific financial challenges
Excellent working knowledge of percent complete accounting and the preparation of a job schedule from source information
Manage all of the financial compliance needs within the company
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and legal requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
GL knowledge is required.
Proven experience in hands-on accounting roles within the construction industry
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, payroll, sales and use tax, and accounting principles.
