As a member of our employee-owned company, the role of Event Support Specialist will be part of the strategic planning, promoting and execution of The Gazette's signature events and programs. This role will be part of a cross-functional team to build and promote the products and experiences that are a powerful representation of The Gazette brand.
The ideal candidate will have strong skillsets in creative thinking, operational and task management, marketing concepts, multitasking, and event implementation.
Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
Collaborate with the Manager of Brand Initiatives and Event Manager to build an annual event plan that includes logistics, promotional strategy, and continuous growth.
Collaborate with Event Manager on logistical strategy and tasks per event
Take a supporting or lead role in identified Gazette-hosted events, including but not limited to vendors, ticketing, food and beverage, decor and signage, printed materials and day of logistical and technical aspects
Work with the Event Manager on tracking event data, including attendees, ticket sales, promotional materials, sponsor fulfillment, website updates, nominations and forecasts to management as directed
Assist with event venue on responsibilities for on-site event staff
Assist with events from start to finish including planning, promotion, execution, review and improvements
Required Skills
Event facilitation experience and knowledge of the technical aspects of event planning
Understanding of marketing concepts in traditional, social and digital resources
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across different teams/departments
Ability to make independent judgments on event-related logistical matters
Strong project management skills that help prioritize tasks within multiple projects and events
Ability to communicate effectively in person and in writing
Solid command of Excel, Zoom or other organizational systems
Ability to work nights and weekends as needed
Qualifications
2+ years' experience working with live events-experience in promotional strategy is a plus.
Inquisitive and passionate about all disciplines of programming that connect people to ideas
Strong project management skills, including an ability to balance multiple priorities at once
Excellent professionalism and people skills
