Summary
We are looking for an experienced leader to spearhead the development of AI-driven software solutions for optimizing energy storage and grid interaction. This role focuses on designing and implementing software systems that improve the operation of battery energy storage systems (BESS), enabling predictive analytics, real-time control, and energy arbitrage. The Director will manage a talented team of engineers and data scientists, working to integrate advanced algorithms with cutting-edge energy technologies.
Responsibilities
Lead the development of software systems that use AI to predict energy demand, optimize energy purchases, and enable efficient use of storage.
Manage all stages of software development, ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, and aligned with the company's goals.
Build and guide a team of software developers, AI specialists, and data scientists, fostering innovation and collaboration.
Design and implement control systems that maximize operational efficiency and cost savings for energy storage systems.
Collaborate with hardware engineers, product teams, and market analysts to ensure software aligns with broader business objectives.
Develop algorithms that enable energy arbitrage and improve real-time grid interactions based on market trends.
Ensure smooth integration of software with various battery systems, focusing on performance and real-time data.
Use data analytics to identify opportunities for improving system performance and enabling predictive maintenance.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Over 10 years of experience in software development, including 5+ years in leadership roles.
Strong background in AI and machine learning, especially in applications for forecasting, optimization, or control systems.
Proficiency in programming languages like Python, C++, or Java, and familiarity with frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and distributed computing environments.
Knowledge of real-time systems, control systems, or industrial communication protocols is a plus.
Excellent leadership skills with a proven ability to build and manage high-performing teams.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively across teams.
Familiarity with energy markets, energy arbitrage, or grid operations (e.g., ERCOT) is beneficial but not essential.
