TEi is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager to help lead day to day fabrication operations.
The Plant Manager plans, organizes, directs and controls the activities of all manufacturing, technical services and related activities. Administer manufacturing plant operation policies and functions to achieve on-time customer deliveries with optimum labor efficiency at budgeted spending levels. Accountable for the successful, safe, on time and high-quality manufacture of all products under the product portfolio including Moisture Separator Reheaters (MSR's) Feedwater Heaters (FWH's), Surface Condensers, other Heat Exchangers, etc., in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. P&L responsibilities associated with running a lean, productive, and highly efficient manufacturing operation. Responsible for maintaining a lean and productive workforce with minimal non-conformances under manufacturing as well as management and control of manufacturing budgeting, forecasting, and plant absorption.
Accomplishes manufacturing human resource strategies by determining accountabilities; communicating and enforcing values, policies, and procedures; implementing recruitment, selection, orientation, training, coaching, counseling, disciplinary, and communication programs; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation strategies.
Develops manufacturing organizational strategies by contributing manufacturing information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction; establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.
Develops manufacturing financial strategies by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating manufacturing requirements, trends, and variances; developing action plans; measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances.
Provide input to Manufacturing department budget development; maintain conformance to budgetary limitations.
Implement and monitor short term and long-term cost reduction plans; assist in developing more efficient production methods.
Initiate problem-solving sessions with manufacturing personnel, Quality Control and Production Control, where production problems exist and actual output varies from plan.
Work with Finance in providing the necessary and timely information and feedback on labor costs.
Delivers customer-acceptable products by enforcing quality standards.
Improves quality results issued by the Quality Assurance / Quality Control Department by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes.
Maximizes equipment operation by developing, administering and scheduling preventive maintenance.
Maintains adequate resources, plans and monitors production progress to ensure deliveries are made on schedule and within reasonable budget standards dictated by final designs.
Avoids legal challenges by understanding current and proposed regulations; enforcing requirements; recommending new procedures.
Overall responsibility for the safe operation of all areas of the plant with minimal lost workdays and worker's compensation claims.
Manage all production planning functions to support commitments made to customers with strong focus on on-time deliveries.
Manage all Technical Services functions.
Develop, recommend, and implement operating policies, procedures and practices.
Direct, through the appropriate Manager, all functions under Manufacturing including hiring, terminations, promotions, and disciplining employees under their area of responsibility. Directs operation of all departments and guides supervisors in the performance of their duties.
Investigate all equipment upgrades and purchases as well as any shop expansions participating in the capital budgeting process including the origination of capital equipment / facility requests in accordance with TEi corporate guidelines.
Assist in analyzing all jobs in shop for over runs and assist in the development of Lessons Learned for continuous improvements.
Participate in resolving labor relations issues.
Encourage innovation, creativity, skill development and cross training of skills.
Teach, train and guide supervisors and hourly personnel in effective manufacturing techniques.
Any combination of education, training and experience providing the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Should have good human relation's skills and the ability for directing, training, analyzing and correcting operating inefficiencies.
Must possess a good understanding of financial management / financial astuteness, as well as possess abilities in problem solving and decision-making based on company policies and procedures.
Hands-on manufacturing experience in a job shop heavy steel welding and fabrication environment.
Bachelor's Degree in a field preferred with a minimum of 10 years of management experience in the overall direction of manufacturing functions.
