Job Description

The Control Systems Services Supervisor is responsible for providing daily planning, design, engineering, training, and supervision of the activities of a Control Systems Lead and multiple technicians responsible for maintaining company-wide SCADA systems including water and wastewater treatment plants, wellfields, and booster pumping stations. Must possess a general understanding of water and wastewater treatment, process control, database and reporting systems, computer systems and state and federal regulatory guidelines. The Control Systems Services Supervisor reports directly to the Service Delivery Facilities Manager.

 

Oversees all control systems capital projects which includes pump control, process monitoring, SCADA networks, electrical power systems, communications networks, radio systems, and all other components related to water and wastewater systems. Supports Engineering with the design of new facilities, fabrication or retrofit of existing facilities upgrades or modifications.

 

Provides technical support for the startup of new or seasonal facilities. Reviews, edits and updates documentation to include various technical, programs, schematics, network and various communication architectural design, manuals, and operational guides/progress reports. Provides support for the company wide Historian OT data collection system.

 

Manages department budget, purchasing and equipment/parts inventory.

 

Oversees all emergency and demand support for control systems failures, including HMI's, PLC's, pump controllers, instrumentation, all SCADA components, leased line communications and delivery devices, water compliance reporting components, control systems networking, electrical hardware including electrical power distribution, SCADA process alarming and companywide security monitoring. Helps to resolve critical or challenging control systems issues by redesigning processes to provide long-term solutions.

 

Must be proficient with the OSAH standards, the Company safety manual, FCC regulations, National Electrical Code (NEC) standards, the OSHA Electrical Safety Standards and the Nation Fire Protection Agency NFPA 70E Electrical Safety in the workplace.

 

Manages the daily activities of the Control Systems Services Lead and Technicians that provide on demand support for all control systems failures and maintenance throughout the Company.

 

Responsible for implementation, repair, accuracy and completion of the company wide production meter and diversion permit testing program.

 

Supports all non-rate revenue duties, including on-demand and routine support to contract operations.

 

Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.

Minimum Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field preferred; experience may substitute for education
  

• 10 years' experience in a control systems environment, which includes PLC programming, Instrumentation, automated processes, general networking knowledge, troubleshooting controls and electrical components. Allen-Bradley PLC experience preferred.
  

• At least 1 year of leadership experience required, either as a supervisor or team leader.
