Job description
We are seeking a skilled Quality Engineer with expertise in the plastics mfg. industry. As a Quality Engineer, your role will involve ensuring product quality, implementing quality assurance measures, and driving continuous improvement. You will develop quality standards, conduct inspections, analyze data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize processes and exceed customer expectations. Looking for strong ISO 9001 background at a minimum. A background in the medical industry is preferred.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement industry-specific quality standards and procedures.
Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
Analyze quality data and identify improvement opportunities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Design and implement quality control plans, including inspection criteria and test methods.
Monitor process performance using statistical techniques.
Investigate customer complaints and implement corrective actions.
Train employees on quality assurance principles and practices.
Conduct supplier quality assessments and address quality-related issues.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
Proven experience as a Quality Engineer in the extrusion or film industry.
In-depth knowledge of quality assurance methodologies and tools.
Familiarity with industry standards and quality management systems.
Strong understanding of extrusion or film manufacturing processes and requirements.
Proficiency in statistical analysis and problem-solving.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities.
Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
