Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership & Resource Management: Manage engineering staff and allocate resources to support operational and project needs. Provide ongoing coaching and formal performance reviews.
  • New Product Development: Lead projects that develop and qualify new products and improve manufacturing processes, including design, testing, machinery, tooling, equipment layout, and production methods.
  • Process Optimization: Drive process control improvements and cost reduction initiatives, including variance reduction through continuous improvement techniques (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Quality & Compliance: Handle Material Review Board (MRB) disposition and costing, ensuring all corrective and preventive actions meet quality standards and compliance. Write work instructions, conduct risk assessments, and support reliability studies.
  • Technical Authority: Serve as the technical leader during engineering reviews and critical product/process decisions. Provide direction for resolving technical challenges and improving operational efficiency.
  • Capital Equipment & Budgeting: Identify capital equipment needs and lead the budgeting process for equipment acquisition, software, training, and installations.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with operations, quality teams, and customers to address technical questions and resolve issues.
  • Safety & Environmental Responsibility: Promote and maintain a "Safety 24/7" culture, ensuring that all safety and environmental initiatives are enforced to achieve zero safety incidents.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred).
  • Experience:
  • 4+ years in a manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace, investment casting, or machining.
  • Prior experience managing teams and leading people in a technical environment.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality systems preferred.
  • Process improvement experience with methodologies such as Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook).
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organization and customers.
