The Network Engineer lead ensures the customer's computer network performance meets user needs and expectations, performing a range of evaluation, maintenance, installation, and training tasks.
Network Engineer Responsibilities:
Design and implement network and cybersecurity solutions.
Manage Cisco IOS routing, switching, and wireless environments.
Develop plans for high availability, resiliency, and recovery.
Ensure compliance with security best practices and automate infrastructure.
Mentor junior staff and recommend solutions for effective network operations.
Lead Responsibilities:
Reinforce the customer's Mission, Vision, and Values.
Analyze and comment on Monthly Agency Metrics.
Represent Infrastructure in meetings and ensure team permissions.
Review team timesheets, absences, and overtime.
Develop succession plans and recommend technical training paths.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree.
Five years of Network Engineer experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred IT work lead experience and government experience.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and security issues.
Provide expert guidance on network systems life-cycle and upgrades.
Monitor and modify complex network and security systems.
Perform active monitoring and remediation of security threats.
Address tier 2 and tier 3 operational issues with vendor support as needed.
