Job Title: Part-time HR Coordinator




Location: Minneapolis & St. Paul, MN (Hybrid, with required time at both locations)
Job Type: Part-Time, 28-32 hours/week, Hybrid, Wednesdays in office.



Position Overview

Beacon Hill's client is seeking an HR Coordinator to join their dynamic team. This part-time role will serve as the primary HR point of contact for the leadership team, with a focus on administrative support, employee relations, and HR system management. The HR Coordinator will play a key role in employee engagement, benefits administration, onboarding, payroll, and supporting the overall HR needs of the organization, with a special focus on youth development and inclusive practices.



Key Responsibilities



  • HR Administration & Support

    • Handle day-to-day HR functions, including benefits administration, open enrollment, and working closely with the benefits provider.

    • Manage administrative tasks related to employee relations, including providing limited support to staff and management on HR issues.

    • Oversee system updates, audits, and ensure timely processing of HR documentation, including employee lay-offs, year-end updates, and other HR processes.

    • Coordinate HR training sessions and events in collaboration with other team members.

    • Organize and manage internal mailings related to donations and other communications.




  • Payroll & Timesheet Management

    • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing using Paycom.

    • Collaborate with managers to review and approve timesheets every other Monday, ensuring compliance with deadlines.




  • Youth Engagement & Support

    • Actively engage with youth employees during onboarding and training, ensuring a supportive and learning-focused environment.

    • Assist in the delivery of orientation programs 4-5 times per year at both the Minneapolis and St. Paul locations.

    • Foster an inclusive, empowering atmosphere, modeling positive behaviors and setting an example for youth.




  • HR Strategy & Guidance

    • Support HR initiatives such as performance reviews, policy updates, and benefits evaluations.

    • Provide HR guidance to the Executive Director and leadership team in areas of HR strategy, employee relations, and team development.

    • Assist in implementing a new performance review process and transitioning payroll systems over the next 12-18 months.




  • General Administrative Support

    • Order food for events and meetings as needed.

    • Support executive leadership with various HR projects and office administration tasks as assigned.




Qualifications & Requirements


  • Required Skills

    • Knowledge and/or experience working with youth and adult employment is a plus.

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems (HRIS, ATS).

    • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

    • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively with a diverse team.

    • Commitment to confidentiality and ability to represent the organization with integrity to both internal and external stakeholders.




  • Preferred Qualifications

    • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

    • 2+ years of HR experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector or in organizations focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

    • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or SHRM-SCP) preferred.

    • Experience with HR systems, particularly Paycom, is ideal.

    • Familiarity with the philanthropic sector and nonprofit foundations is a plus.




Position Details


  • Work Schedule: 28-32 hours per week, with flexibility and required time onsite at both locations for a minimum of 2 hours per week.


  • Hybrid Work Model: Work from home with onsite presence required on Wednesdays for team meetings and HR support.
