Position Overview
Vaco is conducting a search for a Director of IT Transformation and Operations. This is a strategic leadership role focused on modernizing IT infrastructure, strengthening cybersecurity, and unifying IT strategies across U.S. and International Operations.
The IT Director will provide strategic oversight of enterprise-wide IT initiatives, including cybersecurity programs, ERP transformation, and hybrid IT environments. This is a unique opportunity to formalize and lead the IT department while ensuring alignment with business objectives and global collaboration goals.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic IT Leadership: Develop and execute IT strategies to support the company's growth, modernize operations, and align global IT initiatives.
Cybersecurity Oversight: Design and implement advanced cybersecurity programs, which may include endpoint protection, network security, and compliance with industry standards.
Infrastructure Modernization: Oversee hybrid IT environments (on-premises, cloud, SaaS), ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
Cross-Regional Collaboration: Partner with European IT teams to unify global IT strategies and leverage advanced systems expertise.
IT Department Formation: Build and lead a formal IT department, defining roles, processes, and responsibilities to enhance team performance.
Operational Excellence: Streamline IT operations, reduce inefficiencies, and implement KPIs to drive improvements and cost-effective solutions.
Enterprise Software and ERP Transformation (Strategic Oversight): Provide high-level strategic guidance for Enterprise software which might include ERP initiatives, ensuring alignment with broader IT and business goals. Work closely with internal enterprise software specialists and teams to support transformative projects with ERP and other areas as well.
Vendor and MSP Management: Manage relationships with Managed Service Providers and IT vendors to ensure quality and budgetary compliance.
Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, effectively communicating IT goals, progress, and challenges.
Qualifications
Experience:
3-5 years of recent experience as a Director of IT (or equivalent) in a mid-sized company with multiple direct reports.
5-7 years additional years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure roles, with a focus on cybersecurity and operational transformation.
Technical Expertise:
Proven ability to implement and oversee advanced cybersecurity strategies.
Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including hybrid IT environments (on-premises, cloud, SaaS).
Familiarity with ERP initiatives and the ability to provide high-level strategic oversight for transformative projects.
Leadership:
Demonstrated success in building IT teams from the ground up and driving IT transformation initiatives.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
