The Oracle Database Administrator supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate must possess a strong background in database administration and security. This role will involve managing and optimizing database systems, ensuring their performance, availability, and security in accordance with organizational requirements and government standards.
Description of Duties:
Design, implement, and maintain Oracle, DB2, Cassandra and MongoDB database systems.
Ensure the performance, availability, and security of database environments.
Manage database installation, configuration, and upgrades.
Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues proactively.
Implement and enforce database security policies and procedures.
Develop and optimize SQL queries and database performance.
Plan and execute backup and recovery strategies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align database systems with business needs.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior database administrators.
Basic Requirements:
Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 16 years of general experience; Associates degree and 14 years of general experience; Bachelors degree and 12 years of general experience; Masters degree and 10 years of general experience.
Minimum of 9 years of experience as a Database Administrator, with expertise in Oracle, DB2 Cassandra and MongoDB.
Must have 3 years of experience in management or leadership roles
Must have experience with WebLogic
Must have, or obtain within 60 days of start, a DoD IAT Level II certification (Security +)
Must have, or obtain within 90 days of start, an Oracle, DB2 Cassandra or MongoDB certification
Desired Requirements:
Strong knowledge of SQL and database performance tuning.
Experience with database security concepts and government standards.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
