This growing firm in Houston, TX (Galleria Area) is looking to add an experienced Bilingual Personal Injury Associate to their team. As an Associate you will assist more Senior Associates and Partners in managing cases. Depending on your experience, you may have your own docket of cases. This position's primary focus is personal injury.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain client relationships throughout the legal process
Develop strategies in complex disputes
Interpret and summarize legal documents
Negotiate with outside parties on legal disputes and contractual issues
Appear in a court of law, arbitration, or other judicial tribunal on behalf of the firm's client
Utilize knowledge of civil law principles and their application
Understand research methods, rules of evidence and conduct of court proceedings
Effectively deliver legal information in a workshop setting, hearing, or courtroom
Plan, organize, and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
Interpret, understand, and apply federal, state, and local laws and regulations
Write correspondence in a professional manner
Maintain confidential and sensitive information
Prepare, present and conduct cases of law, equity and appeals thereof effectively
Present statements of fact, law, and argument clearly and logically in written and oral form
Required Experience/Skills
3 -5 years of experience
Bilingual. Must be fluent in Spanish.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Collaborative, self-motivated, and highly professional
5%-10% travel required
Values and thrives in team-based approach
Has technical skills where new programs can be quickly learned
Education
Juris Doctor degree from accredited law school
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or relevant coursework obtained through an MBA.
Current Texas state bar admission
